The Pere Marquette River has excellent fishing right now, spring has arrived! With all the rain, and melting snow the river is high and in the 40's. With high water on the banks wading is hard right now, a boat is definitely the way to go. Big Lake Fishing on the south pier for steelhead has definitly started. The ice on the Pere Marquette is not safe now. Ludington Michigan has been a focal point for fishing on Lake Michigan since the early 1970's. This is "Lake Michigans's Gold Coast" and has been the number one place to be fishing these past few years. With natural river mouths, warm shoal water, excellent offshore structure, close proximity to deep water, and the many currents, these waters are teeming with activity, making it an angler's paradise.
